A tiny drill spins into the side of my nose
I reach to pull it out before I can tell my hand to do so
I curve my finger like a bow pulled to fire

My nails drag across the little jagged blade under my skin

The drill reverses
The tiny blade shattered

A starburst of pain cascades outward
followed by liquid heat running down my face
I can feel the red of the blood
