THE JOURNEY

As the music begins to play
Wafting magically in the air
The sound engulfing me
I let my mind go free
I close my eyes and drift with it
The notes swirling around me, lifting me

Light as a feather I begin to float
Each stanza taking me higher
Out of body, Im flying
Soaring above the earth

Above the trees I travel
Turning this way and that
Enjoying the feel of the breeze against my face
The smell of fresh,clean air

The weight of the world is gone
I am one with the wind
Drifting wherever my imagination takes me
Time...space have no bearing here

I swoop down over the waterfalls of Maui
The mist washing my face
The awesome beauty of God
Takes my breath away

As the sound slightly changes I move up and beyond
to the realm of an exotic jungle
The darkness of this tropical paradise envelope me
Not recognizing that I am a mere observer

The freedom I feel is almost over
As the music comes to a close
Against my will, drawing me back into myself
"Not yet" my mind cries

My soul hungers for more as new lyrics begin
I smile to myself
My journey is not over
Here I go again

creativity.

An accurate description of what an instrumentalist hears and feels as his brain transmits to his fingers those first few melodious sounds.

Close your eyes and get lost in the music.
