The Knight

He is the strength of the land,
the protector of honor
He rides to battle each day
Crowds worship and despise him
For what he represents
But it is of no matter
For his code is strict
His loneliness is his bride
His pain his mistress
He carries a scarf of one he holds dear
Though he‘ll never see her again
So he rides in search of truth
For life has no meaning with out it
His path is long and weary
He carries on with a heavy heart
His armor is dented and stained
But this is his life
For which he will give with out thought
