The familiar unfamiliar sound jangles her nerves,
A blue light glows in the forbidden room.
She reaches for the wall and starts to swerve,
The fear in her stomach turning full bloom.
Tears spring to her eyes,
But she refuses to cry.

The sound stops,
The light goes dim.
Her eyes drop,
She knows it was him.
Tentative – her hand reaches out,
And once again it begins to shout.

Dropping to the floor,
Scrambling for the wires.
"I can't listen to more!"
Reminding herself he's a liar.
It shakes and jumps from her shaking hand,
And finally it is more than she can stand.

Tears are now flowing,
A sob shakes her chest.
"We will be going,
Answering would be best!"
Emotion trumps all
And the phone hits the wall.

Every time she gets strong,
Something comes to remind.
What is she doing wrong?
She keeps falling behind.
It is time for decision.
"I don't need your permission!"

Grey eyes flash,
Framed by electric flames.
"You will not make me crash"
She's deleting his names.
She pulls the plug hard,
"You won't catch me off guard!"

She took her body back,
Taking back the heart took longer.
Her mind is all she lacked,
She just had to be stronger.

Very raw and emotional

There are times when we all

need to be stronger and

get over a partner, I know I

can relate to this poem and

I think others will too.

A strong and encouraging

piece, Well done,

Thanks.
