Aged beyond my years, I know of life as only adults should. Not tragic, more like a poorly written story. You know the kind in romance novels, only difference is I’m not attractive and not looking for love. Death no longer saddens me, in fact I look upon death as something to be celebrated, for it is not an end but a beginning. As time has gone by and people come and go, I have taken something from each one. Insight you could call it. Each person has a story, some don’t want to tell theirs to a “stranger”, but down the way their story is told, and by doing so they seem less a “stranger”. In their own words the life stories of every person teaches you a lesson of life. Only if you listen carefully and remember. In my time, “strangers” are bad and should be avoided. Our parents teach us as children this to keep us safe, but if you remember that first day of school, summer camp, or the bus ride, someone there was a “stranger”. At every turn in our lives we meet “strangers”, some our parents were right about while for the most part they were wrong. Many “strangers” to me I have found quite interesting and call them “strangers” no longer, replaced by friend or acquaintance. Sometimes out of the darkness and sadness comes a ray of light and hope.
