I've got to get away from this.
Away from the memories of things that were supposed to be, but never were.

Leave the past behind, and run forwards, towards the light.
The future is the light, but the light is getting dimmer.

Running out of breath, running out of time.
Don't leave me, don't go. But the light has slipped over the edge.

The future has slipped out of my hands.
My time has run out. The light is dark.
Hold me whilst I fall away from you....

Wow

Absolutely beautiful. You write well. The composition is a little strange, but the content is awesome.

.....need to pull the reader in, to make him/her FEEL the pain of the poet. It's missing here. Telling ain't enough.
