An affair of the body lasts but an hour,
An affair of the heart will last a lifetime,
An affair of the mind is immortal,
But a friendship will transcend time,
Causing it to move the heavens, rock the earth, and stir the oceans.
It is the most powerful force on earth,
Free to all, but often costing everything.
It is easily found, painful when lost,
But maybe the most important part of one's life.

Angelineover 20 years agobut this could be an even stronger poem by getting the verb tense more consistent and maybe playing with format some, so line breaks and spacing focus the reader on what you think are the most important parts of the poem. But--either way, it's a good one. :)
