We met as children, having this mystifying bond,
Lingering as a memory 'till we met again,
As though we loved in a past life, our souls recognizing the other,
Demanding more then a mere existence amongst "friends."

I felt more in one embrace then I had in a lifetime,
Our bodies voicing what our hearts spoke in silence,
He held me so tight, as if to ensure reality,
Knowing then there would always be "Us."

His eyes dark and filled with raw emotion,
Melting onto me a warmth all consuming,
The strength in his arms as years of desire collide,
I swear I thought I was dreaming.

For a lifetime I searched, and there he was all along,
Offering all I've ever wanted unconditionally,
I'll spend the rest of ours loving the child I once knew,
In the man standing before me.

Am enjoying the quality here;

Happily ever after doesn't hurt either!
