As if there were no obstacles.

We see each other from across the room...time stands still as our eyes meet.

We walk toward each other as if the world has faded away.

Pausing as we soak in the wealth of emotion pouring from our eyes...
As if gravity it self pulls us closer, our arms encircle one another...a perfect fit.

We stand and sway, holding tightly, never to let go.

Butterflies and lightning...we swear we feel them both.

Slowly...silently...our eyes have locked and held
and in slow motion we begin to move...our lips are drawing near.

Savor long this moment...feel everything there is...
for once they meet, we know down deep, the world shall change forever.

We read the thoughts within our head...the time has come at last
closing eyes and breathing deep...our lips brush so lightly.

At first it is a tender kiss, we fight the passion inside
the pressure builds...our tongues collide...they dance of their own delight.

All fears and cares melt away...at last, we know we're home
the passion just begun
we pull apart...eye to eye...saying not a word...
a tear rolls down your now flushed cheek
i wipe it with my thumb.

you claim you cant explain the reason tears have come to fall
we sit...so close...our hands entwined
in silence we enjoy.

You slowly form the words upon your lips...
begin to tell me what you feel...a smile on your face,

"for so long i have wanted this, believing that we would,
but never knowing how i'd feel to hold you in my arms.
joy mixed with sadness, pleasure mixed with pain, as if we've sacrificed our worlds
to make the other whole"

we both are certain the other has sacrificed more...and for a brief moment fear is in our eyes...
you ask if i resent you for what ive left behind?
I lift your face within my hands, a gentle voice begins,

"i've thought it through a million times...ive weighed it many ways.
and i believe with all my heart, with you i do belong."

you tell me that the same is true, you've thought it through as well
we hold each other tighter still...vowing to never let go.
