I wash my face in a pool of cold water
Feel the strands of water on my warm flesh
Closing my eyes I drink in a mouthful of water
And realize the rest of my life is ahead of me
I open my eyes and look in the mirror
It is I looking back at me, it always has been
Finally the shackles of a past are free
Alone but not sad
Alone but hoping
There will come a time when I am sated again
There will be a new beginning
Shifting resolutions, an unknown quantity
Future left unwritten
Each day shall be a new step, forward, yonder,
Taking the towel I wipe my face
Looking again into the mirror
Where once was sadness is now a moment of clarity
For the path is set, the codex signed in blood
The new Path awaits
