I never thought that this day would come
But here I am standing alone
I know you had troubles. We've all had some
That's why we have a phone
To call, to talk, to cry, or even
Just sit there and know you're loved
The day has now come, I must be leaving
You didn't hold up, when push come to shove

We kissed, that was great
We moved in, I love you
But when will we take the next step
You said "I'm not ready,
I don't know when Ill be"
Well I knew when I was in prep

That you are, (oh wait)…no, youwere the one
I've packed, I'm on the road, and I'm nearly gone

We've all had troubles. Now I've got some
I have taken the dive
But wait here you come (oh thank god)
Looks like love will survive

So let's take the next step
One hand on another
One year, two months, and three days later
Wow…what a beautiful mother
