Her brain worked
On switches and fuses
The feelings too intense
Burnt out each fuse
One by one
Painstakingly
Each time
She repaired them
With bloody fingers
Cut deep
From overuse
She became
Immune to pain
And watched
Uncaring
As fuses blew
Wearily flipped
The master switch
Back on
And carried on
Such is life
