If I place my hands over yours as you draw
Feel the movement of your art
Create as you create
Have I composed the image in your mind?

If I feel your excitement well in my veins
As I look into your ocean blue eyes
See as you see
Have I shared your insight into this world?

If I manage to steal your guitar for a day
Compose epic ballads of angst and torture
Cry as you might cry onto this paper
Have I played your heartstrings to my own advantage?

If I place my lips passionately to yours
Taste your essence and breathe your breath
Feel you overwell me from the outside in
Have I captured your heart and chained it to me?

If I watch your every move for 24 hours straight
And know every thought that passes through your head
Have I lived as you've lived
Have I broken inside your barrier?

If I watch your life pass you by
And watch as your love fades into oblivion
Will I be blinded by my own love for you?
Have I ignored that which should be so obvious?

If I cry myself a river of denial as you leave
Watch as your eyes boar through my soul with frustration
Know that you love me no more
Will I bring worth enough pity to make it worthwhile?

Will you stay if I beg?
