At night I sit and wonder
what my part is in the play
Just to make it through one scene
or perhaps another day

I know my role is not that big
but important for the show
My brain has always known it
but I wish my heart would know

I know the play will never end
just the actors will die out
Those nights I wonder and also wish
I never would have tried out
