Who is this mystery?
Are they a he or are they a she?
Could it even that there are two working together?
Just a made up identity or are they truly as they appear?
Will any of us ever know?
Do some of us know more than we are currently letting on?

Maybe I am the answer to this mystery
Maybe you are
With every rare appearance
The plot thickens
As our world of poetry turns
Deep inside each of us
The yearning to know the true face of this mysterious admirer churns

Behind the glow of a computer screen
Somewhere the phantom is watching
Waiting
Reading
Commenting
Leaving his or her audience
Breathless with the anticaption of their next vist

A new dawn has arrived
And we wonder
We question
Will this be the day?
The day we have all secretly longed and lusted for
The moment when at last we see behind the mask
Behind the mask of the poet unmasked

Stephen would piss his pants

if you were unmasked poet. Unmasked Poet is either a really funny trickster or a pedantic/lazy old man.
