Riding out
Night after night
Slaying dragons
And monsters
Lurking in shadowy closets
The young princess'
Noble Champion
Her knight in shining armor
The protector of the realm
Tries as he might
To uphold the
Right
To gather the gold
To scour the land

Perhaps, a kiss
Perhaps, a hug
Perhaps, a...

"Thank you Daddy,"

But no,
Just a smile as she rolls over with her tightly clutched plushy...
A smile, from the champion
As he turns to leave
