Walking through the city,
listening to the cars and people go by,
I'm walking to meet him.

My protector, my soldier, my lover.
Heading to our favorite ice cream stand.
I see him,
his sculptured muscles ripple under his shirt.

I come up behind him, wrapping my arms around his neck.
He turns, seeing my smiling face.
He kisses me,
melting me under his touch.

He pulls away, taking my hands in his.
He orders us ice cream,
getting my favorite for me.

He hands me the mint chocolate ice cream cone,
and we start walking through the downtown,
bring us to the outdoor markets.

The markets are filled with beautiful artwork and delicious foods.
Walking though the rainbow of the market objects,
we pass the art and jewelry booths.
The colors of the beautiful stones and textures,
surrounding us with their beauty.

We keep walking.
Going to the vast park,
that I consider a heaven surrounded by the busy life of the city.

Going to the path that runs along the water.
We walk hand-in-hand,
intertwining our fingers into each others'.

He stops us, bringing me to sit on a bench with him,
the view overlooking the water
and the beautiful greenery of the park.

We sit, talking and finishing our ice cream.
He looks into my eyes after finishing our ice cream.
He tells me how much he loves me,
picking up my hand and placing it in his.

He gets on one knee.
My hand begins to tremble, realizing what he is doing.
My Zachary, is asking me to marry him.
He kisses me hand, stopping the trembles.

He smiles at me, melting my insides.
Tears stream down my face,
he caresses my cheek, wiping away the tears of joy.
He pulls out the ring.

The simple, elegant ring was perfect.
He places it n my finger,
while he asks me with all his heart on his eyes,
"Marry me my love."
All I can manage is a soft yes.

He picks me up, swinging me around in his arms.
He kisses me full of passion,
I melt from the sheer joy and bliss.
Falling in love with him every second,
of every day all over again.

Its a lovely poem.

As twelveone said, it could do to be shorter and more focus and I think you need to look to how it sounds. I really liked it though and found it very sweet.

Beautiful

As the previous reader commented: The beauty lies in what is not said, highlighting what remains. Simplicity. Pare it down till only the essential remains. The essential is what the heart speaks. Keep writing.

Gently speaking, I know you want to say everything, good practise is not to. Advice take a lot at some that have comments. Good start.
