THE PUB

The waters are deep and cold…darkness is the only salvation from which you endure…
Tearing flesh from my neck is what you find so pure…
You watch as I enter the pub…which a broom has forsaken and raw stench now fills the room…
I am cloaked in a dress the color of a ravens back…my hair has been cut to my shoulders not to reveal my scarred neck…
You watch through the window as I glide inches off the floor…some don't notice me…others think…"just another whore…"
I turn and look into your eyes…you know why I have come here…like so many other nights before…I know your hunger is great…I know how to feed your tormented state…
I pick them out like cattle at an auction…I look them up and down and know all it takes is a little smile and they will follow me out…
You smile knowing it won’t be much longer…not much longer until you’re fed…until we both can laugh at them lying at the foot of our bed…
I see him finally…he is a big man with beautiful hands and long fingers…his body magnificent…strong…he thinks he has found his prize as he offers to fill my glass…not taking his eyes off my half exposed breasts…
Jealousy fills your chest…you have died a thousands deaths and yet you still can’t understand this rage that burns in you to see a mere mortal gaze upon me…
As I look up to let you know dinner is near I sense your hurt…your anger and the fear…
I look around and without hesitation I push him away and with a wicked grin and pouty lips I point at a tall brunette with my hips…
You laugh out loud and feel a blush come across you as I tap her on her shoulder and whisper in her ear…she leans back and kisses me on the cheek and tells her friend she feels ill and will call her next week…
I take her hand and lead her out into the cold night air…she shivers quietly and pulls up her coat tighter…
You follow behind and hear the giggles that fill the air like gnats on a dead rat in the alley…
I pull her into the hallway and open the door…you are smoke and already inside…you await the feast I have brought you…
I run my hand along her cheek…and look over her shoulder…I see you…mere inches away…you can smell her now…I purr as I lean into her and brush your lips with my fingers…she moans with excitement and the moment forever lingers…I kiss her deeply and you taste her throat…the blood drips out of her neck and down your mouth…we both drink heavily…not caring if she lives…she is only food for us…and her body for us to share…
We won’t sleep tonight…we will make love like in the memories of long ago…
I walk into a pub…like so many times before…
