The rage in me

The rage in me is strong,
The rage in me is blind,
The rage in me is red,
The rage in me is mine.

Red as blood yet to spill,
Strong as the tide,
Blind as Fate,
Mine to live.

Hands shaking,
Heart racing,
Palms sweating,
Reason disappearing.

Dreams of rivers of blood,
Of mutilated corpses,
Of levelled cities,
Of scorched land.

Vision red,
Arms ready to strike,
Legs ready to crush,
Soul far and long gone.

Death is here
Death’s knocking on the door
Destruction reaching
Disease coming.

Scent of decay
Splashes of blood
Pieces of life
Silence stretching.

A lone shadow
On top of a dead world
A single heartbeat
In the silence of things.

Is the Rage all I am?
No.
I am the Rage,
The end yet to come.
