The Real Me

I don't wanna pretend anymore
I'm sick of seein' people stare at me
I just wanna be yours, that's all
So why can't these people let me be

What would you do if we were sitting
If I held your hand, would you hold mine back
What would you do if I got scared
If I squeezed your hand would you squeeze mine back

This is the real me
Just me and my baby
I need you, I want you
It's all I want in life

I couldn't hide my feelings
There was a sense of darkness around
Fantasy can be so tempting
Just keep your two feet on the ground

What would you do if we had a fight
If I shouted at you, would you shout back
But in the end, I know I'd feel guilty
If I said sorry, would you say it back

This is the real me
Nothing in the world is free
I have feelings just for you
They are strong, they're all for you

I could be brave, and hide what I'm feeling
Keep it all bottled up inside
I could be brave, and act like there's nothing wrong
All for the sake of human pride

What would you do if I moved closer
If I kissed you, would you kiss me back
What would you do if we had a lifetime
If I loved you, would you love me back

This is the real me…
