I sailed across an endless sea
My ship in silent motion
I gave up all my hopes and dreams
To drift upon the ocean

My head was strong, my heart was free
I broke all ties that bind me
I thought my self a bold, brave.man
Till her thought crept to remind me

A lovely lass, with ruby lips and very much outspoken
She leaned to steal a simple kiss
My bluff was all but broken

Her thoughts were filled with wedding bells
But she wasn't going to make me
I fled aboard these nimble legs
Just as far as they would take.me

I sailed across an endless sea
My ship in silent motion
I gave up all my hopes and dreams
To drift upon the oceaan
