Scipio, after having ordered
the heads of its living generals piked,
wailed for Carthage, although it was Rome,
Polybius his teacher said.

"Who cares about dominion?" she said,
to another Carthaginian
woman helping her drag,

curling fingers inside of ribs
since dogs had gotten the innards
underneath bones missing their skin.

Scipio's work was dirtier than the dogs'.

Carthage, Rome, or dog dominion are lesser than the dominion of worms.

They only do the clean job'

Horribly realistic, GM!
