being a beginner
at this sort of thing
i knew nothing about
what it would take
for me to make it
but i picked up my
tools and got busy.

when it was done
i took a step back
to admire my work
it wasnt the best
still i was proud
and she was very
happy it held sand.

Uncomplicated language

that reminded me of the red wheelbarrow, where so much can depend. Very good...

maybe it's because I have kids

but I like to picture you building a sandbox for your daughter or niece. I know this poem can have many meanings, but I'm sticking with my version. :)

...than meets the eye. Intricate and profound thoughts veiled by simple words. Absolutely beautiful!

A grain of truth

Wonderful and straight forward,

clear and so simple,

but so deep when thought about.

How many other things can this be a metaphor for?

Thank you for a good poem to think about.
