The Sea

Endless waves crest with frothy, roiling white foam

Disappearing as they reach their wet sand home

I inhale the air’s briny saltiness

And the sea whispers your name

Light brown sand pitted with white seashell

Stretching to its border of saw- grass, mangrove and sea-grape

I stare at the distant line of the blue horizon

And the sea whispers your name

How small I feel, here, trembling in the face of such awesome

Force and beauty

A creation that only a power much greater than myself could ever

conceive

I feel the wonder of my life here, and my heart swells

And the sea whispers your name

I Love You
