MAKRY-YIALOS
Afternoon
8/12/2008

THE SEAMAN THAT I NEVER WAS
(Unholy Echo da Lontano of the Ultimate Betrayal)

The seaman that I never was,
Is traveling forever,
Although I feel to him so close,
I haven’t been very clever.

I thought that there should be a link,
To have a double existence,
But I have missed it in a blink,
Due to my single persistence.

The seaman that I never was,
Lives in another place,
Perhaps in sketches by Boz,
Caricature his face.

The mystery of Edwin Drood,
Is that I never read it,
In sinful passion as I stood,
Where angels fear to tread it.

The mayor of Casterbridge,
Is but a mild case,
For putting feelings in the fridge,
Of my inferior race.

The seaman that I never was,
More honest man than I,
He’s my poor truth and that’s because,
I am his richest lie.

Interesting

you are pulling people off the page for the picture to form, always a danger in that.

these two lines would have to explained away:

In sinful passion as I stood,

Where angels fear to tread it.

otherwise mere cliche

5ed, never the less
