The Shadow
Next to us dwells a Shadow
One dark & mysterious
It looms over us
forever lurking near
The Shadow colors all
Light will not drive it away
It seems vile & sinister
but it knows not good & evil
It is beyond such notions
But it conjours fear
Some embrace it
Others try to run away
It has taken many of late
More than seems right
Sometimes in bright of Light
Other times in the dark of night
It has no religion
Knows no country
We fight it always
But it never loses
