Grant me the spirit of the rainfall
That washes life into the dusty Earth
Remind me that a child lives on inside us all
Rejuvenating those who know it's worth
Grant me the vision of the fallen Wolf
Too old to ever join the pack again
Waiting for death, smiling as it is engulfed
So joining with the spirit of the plain.

Let me be more than just a son of man
Deformed by basic instinct, lust and greed
Instead make me appreciate that life began
With all ambition forged by simple needs
Let nothing in my mind be clearer than today
The past's a chain; tomorrow's just a dream
Make me happy that I earn enough to pave the way,
Make me never seek enough to be obscene

Above all, spirit of the Earth, I need to know
My time within this place was worth the while
That one-day I will watch the seeds I planted grow
Inside my family and my lover's smile
My tombstone is my own to carve, my own to make
So make it of a spirit who prevailed
A simple man who loved to love for lovings’ sake
Who died forgiven, cleansed for when he failed
