How It Should Have Been

You captivated me with invisible chains
Locked around my wrists and soul
I was pieced together with your love
A broken link made whole

The lore of romance taught with grace
With pain and agonizing pleasure
You contrived a way to own my being
A slave that you would treasure

The whips you lashed against my skin
Left welts that painted a story
Strokes of purple on a pale bare canvass
Symbolic of your glory

Ravishing penetrations stabbed me deep inside
And ruptured my very core
A freeing orgasmic revelation
Birthing devotion, lust, and war

Your collar was worn tight around my neck
A testament your hold on me was real
You clasped a leash to connect me to you
And kept me at your heel

But you wanted to own what belonged to another
I was a slave that had already been claimed
Our paralleled timelines now staggered
Where unreachable desires remained

So I broke from your leash and crawled away in fear
And willed myself to release
Afraid to stand up for the truth in my heart
And spare our loves de cease

I vehemently tried to deny what we had
And structured an invulnerable wall
To which I hide inside myself
Protected from the inevitable fall

Your divine cum fueled my dissipating will
When our love became a fight
But love’s ember smoldered to ash and dust
Before the flame could ignite

I pushed you away with unwavering strength
Too weak to pull through what could be
With hope and despair you left me the choice
And I demised our destiny

Now my eyes are shattered windows
Tears of rain seeping through the pane
Tiny droplets of delicate memories
Their surrender I cannot restrain

I escape the nightmare of our loss
Through dreams and fantasy
A porthole to my lover’s arms
Evoking pain and ecstasy

I never meant to shut you out my love
And throw away the key
The key you gave me to unlock you heart
And set love’s rapture free

If simply given one more chance
No more trifling excuses and fears
To tell you I never stopped loving you
It has manifested more through the years

We were doomed from the beginning
Heedlessly we justified the sin
Two hearts, one soul, a fairytale
Is how it should been
