He speaks and writes,
Twirls and whirls,
Jokes and opines,
And the world is the stage.

His fans want to be with him,
Women swoon with a touch,
A glance, a smile.
Men want to shake his hand, laugh with him.

The performer writes and talks,
Knowing that he is now wanted,
Respect, love, lust, camaraderie
All buffet the performer in waves.

He looks at a woman,
She winks at him, playfully,
She wants him, to be with him.
With but a hug, she is hooked.

His fears assuaged, he goes on,
Knowing what he has paid to be here.
Betrayal, pain, loss, anger, guilt
But this is his reward

He goes on, still performing
Thankful for those who got him there,
Good or bad, friend or not
Remembering them, as he performs.

why I wrote it

I am a internet radio host on www.dementiaradio.org, as well as a published RPG designer (Bureau 13 d20, on Lulu.com). In my circles, I have amassed a bit of celebrity, including females peers' attention. It's okay, but not what I seek. I merely see that as affirmation of my talents.
