The storm that rages in my mind
Is often cruel and rarely kind
No matter what I do or say
The storm inside won't go away
When the clouds begin to break
The relief I see is hard to take
Though I long for a sunny day
The storm inside is here to stay
Summer dress and winning smile
Joking, laughing, full of guile
No one wants a rainy day
All that matters is what’s on display
The storm has passed, the clouds are done
Now it’s time to enjoy the sun
From all this, the takeaway
The words of wisdom to obey
Do not falter, remain steadfast
Storms must subside, they cannot last
From this wisdom, do not stray
Life cannot be lived in disarray
The storm is quiet in my mind
Not free to roam, it is confined
No matter what I say or do
The storm inside is all about you
