"The Sunset"
A POEM BY FELATIA ALLDAY
Every day, darkness do you bring, a last glitter of the light,
The last song is sung by the songbird, as your warmth does leave,
The lovers enjoy the last glimpse of thee, Oh Sunset, divine and true,
Until the next time the cloudless skies show promise blue,
The seagull she cries out anew, the pelican takes the dive for food,
The lovers now renew their kiss in unrelenting passion,
For you show off the hues of pinks, oranges, and reds; this your fashion,
Oh Sunset, dost you dare to bring, the memory of our lost and dead,
The lover's passion can be misled to a new born life in the skies of red,
Hath the angels called unto thee, Oh Sunset, the miracle of God's creativity,
Yet you die nightly, my friend and in darkness hide again. How long? I ask,
Eternity!
