The tears come at random times,
Prickling, at the back of my eyes.
By now I should have known the signs,
That make these damn tears arise.

A lost whiff of the scent you wear,
Makes the loss so heard to bear.
Your familiar voice in a stranger's words -
I turn and look, but you're not there.

At times I wonder what could have been;
My mind dwells on what I have missed.
My eyes, they see a faraway scene-
Not clear, merely through a mist.

A future that cannot be mine.
The different stars will not align.
Hope perished and love gone bad,
The tears to cry, a heavy fine.

Misty . . .

. . . eyes blink and we're left with the sadness, pain and reminders of a love gone wrong.

Beautifully written.

It makes me realize how devastating lose can be.

Made me shiver...

Anyone who has had a love go wrong will feel what you have written. Very touching...and moving...
