The Things I'm Good At

To list the things I'm good at
Is not easy as it seems.
For they are as diverse
As people's hopes and dreams.

For instance, I love reading.
It's like a time machine.
In books are people, places
That I have never seen.

When a song is playing,
If I know the words
I just can't fight that urge inside
To dance, to sing--be heard!

When I'm in creative mode
Crocheting fits the bill.
I can take work anywhere
And do while sitting still.

When I am quiet, something smells good
And I order people out
I'm probably cooking up a storm.
I aim to please without a doubt.

When asking for your birthday
I'm not planning some party.
I'm mapping out your birth chart
Because I like astrology.

I have two pretty little girls
Whom I love with all my heart.
Through laughter, yelling, joy and tears
No dull moments from the start.

I have a handsome, red-haired man
Whom I love through peace and strife.
Passion, fireworks, brainstorms too--
This mix should last for life.

Those are the things I'm good at.
Probably I'll find more.
Usually they are new things tried
Or done only once before.

One thing I know for certain
And you know, it's plain to see:
You may be great at many things
But I'm good at being me!
