...and we all lay dead on the field of honor
where has our courage gone
We laid it bare for you to live
you mock us, everyone
The debt hangs in the balance
and we'll collect before we're done

Sound your alarm, see who comes
not the likes of me
For I lay dead upon a field
in silent reverie
Who will hold your freedom dear
Perhaps your first born son

...and me I'll lay here stone cold dead
my time in hell is done

No Sanctus bell can make us rise
no medal make us whole
A rotting heap of morbid flesh
our twisted tortured souls

The freedom that we took for you
when first we stood up tall
You threw away at every turn
and still on us you call

...and we all lay dead on the field of honor
where has our courage gone?

We hold it here, down in our graves
come and get it, bring your gun!

Beautiful poem...

but will the anti-war activists listen? I hope so, but I have my doubts. Very well done and it pays tribute to all those that have fallen in the name of freedom.
