The Unfinished Dance

I remember that night when we danced
in each other's arms and eyes
keeping rythm with each other
my every want was satisfied.

I held her hands. I kissed her lips.
I crooned to her that night.
I told her that I needed her
but I held on too tight.

We drank that night and disagreed.
She left me to dance alone.
I searched for so long in the crowd.
I wonder if she made it home?
