She lay on the sheets, evenly breathing in sleep.
His darkest desire drew him closer to her bed.
He pulled aside the thick dark curtain of her hair
Revealing the slender white column of her neck.
His gaze followed the curve to the hollow in front
Then ran down her chest to the rise of her breasts.
Her warm flesh offered a tantalizing scent.
But where should he choose to sup from first?
To drink from her jugular might drain her too quick.
Raising her arm, he traced the delicate blue line
And heard her mumble in her dream filled slumber.
He bent low to her ear and whispered, "my dear."
Her eyelashes fluttered over deep grey eyes
As she gazed up at him with no surprise.
"My lord," she said as she raised her bare arms,
"I've kept your dinner warm."
