The veil
That barrier that keeps us separated
Is beginning to fade
As the nights grow longer
And summer dies its yearly death
We feel your essence growing stronger
Pulling us toward you
Your memories and anxious cries
Of longing
Of desire
Once, nothing more than a breeze
Now beat upon our still hearts
Starved for human contact
We tear at the veil
Clamoring for freedom
To feel
To touch
Perhaps to even love
For more than that one night
When heaven and hell
Angels and demons
Turn their backs
And allow us to roam reality
When you feel us
Don't run or hide
Accept us
Embrace us
Love us
Because night is not eternal
And come dawn's light
The veil will once more imprison us
With shackles of emptiness
