the weakness of forced symmetry

I don't even care
to argue any more
just watch you wave your arms
in a four by four beat. Trying
to keep us in line is wrong as
snapdragon opera, rock-wall garden
aligned in tall vertical rows.

"Sh! not so loud:
he’ll hear you," Mary said.
But I can't help it,
I want to watch it fall.
