Strong, powerful
Full of pride and cunning
Behold the wolf
Muscles flex like steel cables
A ferocious beast
Power elicit in his every move
Innocent, small,
Full of trepidation and beauty
Behold the lamb
Shy and bashful
Each movement a titter of delight
Celebrating the joy of life
Hunting, stalking
Attempting to slake
His hunger for blood
Leaping, Roaming
Attempting to slake
Her hunger for life
They stare into each other’s eyes
Across a sunlit meadow
A moment frozen in place,
A world stood still
The wolf coiled muscles
Powerful jaws
His need within his reach
The lamb serene
Eyes full of trust and wonder
Her desire to approach
The wolf settles on his haunches
Waiting to spring fourth
His trap of death
The lamb makes a tentative bleat
Her eyes locked to his
Unblinking
Confusion, the wolf’s muscles relax
His thoughts no longer of rending flesh
But of curiosity
The lamb gambles her life
Slowly approaching
Her gaze riveting
Whining, now powerless
The wolf is welded to the spot
Those dark eyes piercing his soul
Her body now a quiver
She stands within inches of death
Unafraid
Run with me he growls
Let us play together
Let us seize this moment
In an instant the lamb tames the wolf
