Monday morning and I’m woken up
alarm clock ringing in my head
Only two hours sleep, two toilets trips
And I’m dragging myself out of bed.

On the run to catch the bus
I’m running ten minutes behind
I’m fumbling for my bus pass
Searching frantically for but cannot find.

A miracle happened and I make it to work
With two and a half minutes to spare
I enter the ladies to check on my makeup
And flick round my messy mop of hair.

To my horror and utter surprise
Every strand is out of place
And as for my makeup don’t even ask
Just look at the dark smudge marks down my face.

Four black coffees and two fag breaks later
In the office, a tall, dark handsome man suddenly walks in
My eyes fix on his sexy smile
As I strole by and trip over the bin.

I can feel the chorus of laughter
As my faces blushes a beetroot red
I wish my alarm clock had broken
So I could be home safe and warm in my bed.

I can’t believe its only Monday
Another four days till the end of the week
I wish someone would put me out my misery
So I could stop being a Monday morning freak.
