The air Hangs thick
like a mississippi bog
no room to breath
no place to speak

silence, a cough, a stare
hatred oozes from your pores
the tension is to thick
it cant be cut

words stick in my throat
it is scortching
dry, cracked, parched
nothing comes out

choking on your hatred
gagging in silence
whoever said silence is golden
was lying through their teeth
