Time
Is there time?
Does only the perception of the world around us create time?
Is there only time?
Is time the sole force we see, moving eternity through complexity?
Consciousness
Is there a soul?
A higher state of being?
Or is what we experience of consciousness
a bottom up system
a hodgepodge of various parts of the brain
working together?
Economic systems
Money is imaginary
Value is subjective
yet entire infrastructures
are built around this fantasy.
Reality
what is it that we see?
what holds together the common experience
is there no experience if there is no observer?
is what we see programmed into a hologram
on the edge of black hole?
Love
of the romantic type
that sends our brains into a tizzy
a bubbling bath of neurochemicals
that heightens senses
and boosts creativity
The Vastness of Outer Space
Have you seen the Voyager photo of the blue dot that is earth?
Everything we know
that has ever been
and that will ever be
contained on an almost inconceivably small
lucky chunk of water and earth
just far enough from a yellow star
Gut Microbiota
Egyptians thought intestines were valuable
and threw away brains
Western science has been doing the opposite
we are made of so much more than flesh and bone
our bodies a symphony of microorganisms
we cannot live without
yet have been learning to poison with medicine
and diet.
More neurochemicals are created in the gut
than in the brain.
The Fallibility of Mankind
We each hold such a deep sense of self
it's a direct attack to think we are swayed by unconscious signals in our environment
we've even developed a way to block ourselves from believing evidence directly to the contrary of our beliefs
you may find that upsetting enough you forget it.
