Siren song

They hear the siren calling,
Calling, calling from the west
Come to me, come to me come to me come to me
Let me take you to my breast

Her alluring call was sultry, haunting
She promised them all that they were wanting

Oh how they longed for her fulsome bounty
Strains of the song filled the desert air
Come to me come to come to me lover
I’ll give you a life that’s wondrous fair

The siren brought them to her bosom
Thousands came to the Promised Land
Those at home were filled with envy
As they sweltered in the desert sand

But the siren was a greedy mistress
And it wasn’t men the Bitch was after
She stretched her greedy fingers eastward
Her driving lust would bring disaster

They hear a new sound in the desert
Sirens calling, calling calling
Soldiers jack boots tromping, tromping
Bombs are falling, falling, falling

Siren comes to see the desert
They celebrate with yellow cake
Now the desert’s dying, dying
Noses bleed and belly’s ache

There’s a fierce sound in the distance
From the west, north, south and east
Air raid sirens calling, calling
She unleashed a killing beast.
