You are never far from my thoughts.
You steal into my consciousness like a wraith.
Passing through my focus easily
As fog through the trees of the forest.

A smile creeps across my face
From the memory of your laugh.
A sigh escapes from my lips
Recalling your scent on the air.

But there is also a part of you that is dark.
A part of you that is sad and solemn.
Thinking of this part of you stirs me.
It makes me wish to hold you.

To brush the hair from your face
And kiss your forehead lightly.
To tell you that everything will be alright.
Even if I don't believe it myself.

To kiss you deeply on the lips.
With a hunger that needs fed.
So much so that when you exhale
It becomes my breath.

That our spirits become as one.
Intermingling and swirling together.
Like smoke wafting up from a fire.
Disappearing into the heavens.
