Each night I pray
to a God that I have never seen,
but know in My heart...
for a woman like no other
who inhabits My soul.
She, I have also never seen.
But I have felt her;
her hand upon My cheek,
her body pressed against Mine,
her very being within Me.
I pray that she be safe,
that she be guarded and kept
in the warmth of the sun.
I pray that she find peace,
that joy and ecstasy
come down from the stars.
I pray that she may fly,
that her dreams will lift her up
and carry her upon the winds of fortune.
I pray that one day
I will be what she deserves.
When I am with her,
I long to be a better man.
One whom she may look at
face-to-face,
and know, and trust, and love,
for the rest of our days.
This is My prayer,
God be with us both,
and may faith and love
show us the way.
