"This Isn’t Goodbye, It’s… (Oh, Wait A Minute, I Guess It IS Goodbye!)"

I can’t believe, that when the day is done
You would let me walk into the sun
And away from you, until the end of time.

Just a catch in the throat, a tear in the eye
Broken, hatched, waving goodbye
Forever, never to be mine

Voices may hector for proper verse
Hoping for the best, expecting the worst
In the end, it’s just the same old words.

But my soul speaks no language of man
I don’t think my heart even can
Flying on the wings of a million birds.

No one’s worth the tears you cry
And the one that is won’t even try
To hurt you, like I know you’ve been hurt before

But now you’re alone again
Wishing, that you had a friend
Like me, to come walking through your door

I’ll miss you more than you’ll ever know.
I’ll miss you more than you’ll ever want to know.
