This Madness

Madness, this driving
desperate urge to purge
pose and primp words
spew forth on to
paper and screen
to be seen and heard
read and recycled
over and over in space
at time and place unknown
shown to others
thrown back and forth
over coffee and phone
speaking commonality
recognizing sameness
does vanity
drive us in hope
our words survive us
show we once existed
saw and felt
gorged ourselves on
life’s wonders
our blunders
to enrich experience
until we feel a
desperate urge to purge
this madness

That pretty

much sums it up.

"our words survive us

show we once existed

saw and felt

gorged ourselves on

life?s wonders

our blunders"

I love that

Nice job.

love it!!

I resist the urge to purge every single day, can barely stomach the news or paper anymore. You have an awesome, unforced rhyme going on inside this poem which gives it vivacious life of its own, very good!! :)
