We haven't known each other all that long
But still I find myself thinking about
How you would be to spend a lifetime with,
To lie with you within a marriage bed
And make our plans for many years ahead,
Perhaps to raise our children, if they come,
To guard them from the perils of the world,
To see them grow up strong as we grow old.
If you're not ready for this sort of thought
Quite yet, I'd say that probably you're right;
I tend to be too serious at times.
The last thing that I want's to scare you off,
But I can see so much within your eyes,
And pray that I might soon deserve your love.
