And she knew it was love the moment his eyes met hers and he asked for a kiss, lips met and she felt a heat throughout her body like never before. Love was made that night like no other, whether it be lust or love, their first date ignited a forever flame.

And she knew it was love when she lay in his arms afterwards, her eyes traveling down the length of his body. She knew this body, the long legs, the strong hands, the blue eyes which matched a smile that made her heart flutter. He was the One, she had known Him before... He was the face of her dreams. Love was felt deep in her soul...fulfilling her heart...giving her hope. Love that had somehow continued throughout many lifetimes, yet rarely had the two floating souls recognized the other had survived, till now... till now.

And she knew it was love the moment they promised each other...him never to deny her, nor her to deny him, whether it be for emotional support, romantic support, physical support or any other support, companionship, partner ship...anything they were comfortable with. Love was linked between the two having so many times able to understand what the other needed or wanted without a word spoken between them.

After many months of trials and tribulations for the loving couple, a whirlwind of thoughts, positive and negative, overwhelmed them, as did the tragedies occurring throughout the days. Doubts and distrust circled, causing anxiety and hurt creating a distance that seemed too great, overwhelming, too hard to get past. Love suddenly was overshadowed by heartache, pain and led to neglect.

But she knew it was love when tears streamed from her eyes, unable to stop as she looked on at him, her eyes pleading relentlessly, yet merciless his remained cold. Her body shook, her mind screamed silently...but I love you and I believed you, how could you...how could you....Love has choked, strangled, destroying many a heart and this is love you say...this is love?...

Yet she knew it was love as she softly kissed his sleeping face before slipping silently into the night. "I love only you, but I wish no longer to make either of us unhappy. We could have had a wonderful life, but not when only one feels this loves. I'm letting you go to find happiness, even though it hurts me, but so does staying with someone who wants not to touch me. Go, be happy, these games are over..." Her words were whispered as he dreamt, suddenly stirring him, but gone she was. Love they had had, and love they had thrown away...past, pain and pride had done them both in.

Had she loved? Had he? She only knew her own heart, she never seemed able to reach his, or had she? Perhaps if they had let go of the silence between them, she might not of slipped silently into the night, letting go of a soul that had continued to hurt for far to long. Maybe in the next life, she thought with sadness in her heart and a final tear in her eye.
