Three Sonnets ~ a song of cyber-love

I.

Now am I blind; such distance thwarts my gaze
And bars my other senses from their bliss.
I know that I must spend my nights and days
Without thy scent, thy taste, thy touch, thy kiss.
My words alone may reach for thee, it seems,
Our yearning bodies must remain apart,
Yet if I meet the dreamer in her dreams,
Imagined loving still can touch the heart.
Let fall the garment, that thy bosom cloaks,
And draw away that lacy barrier
To let thine own insistent fingers coax
More sweetness from the lovely wellspring there.
Oh, let thy fingers serve as eyes for me,
To visit places that I long to see!

II.

The motion of thy tender, fragile heart,
I hear it at the instant I awake,
And thy mischievous laughter makes me quake
In resonance, as some uncanny art
Conveys it to my ears. 'Tis at the start
Of morning, when the sun's intrepid beams
Invade my eyes, and chase away my dreams,
I hear the echo of thy thoughts that dart
Across such distances -- and how it sings
Within my mind, long after thou art gone!
In sadness I rebuke the sullen dawn
That wakens me to apprehend these things,
For in our dreams alone may we embrace,
And finally know each other face to face.

III.

In dreams, thy lovely bosom did amaze
My sight, thy gracious visage thrilled my eyes,
And in the blesséd haven of thy thighs
I found a place to set my soul ablaze.
At first I was irresolute, my love,
Could I deserve such glories to behold?
I can't forget thy words, that did unfold
A miracle, how I could freely move
Into thy dreams, and I was welcome there.
Our lips and fingers joined, and found a way
To make the night more vivid than the day.
I wept when I awoke; but now so rare
A vision comes, the mists of sleep depart,
I learn to see thee whole, and with my heart.
